이탈리아 출신의 현대예술가 Francesco Clemente,
작품마다 다양한 색채 사용과 대비가 뛰어난 미술가이다.

프란체스코 클레멘테는 1952년 Italy 나폴리에서 태어났고, 어린시절 고언어 및 문학을 공부했다.
1970년에 로마 대학 건축학과 입학을 했으나, 건축 공부는 하지 않고 1970년 내내 유럽에서 전시작, Photography, 개념미술 활동을 하게 된다.
1973년 인도로 넘어가 작품활동을 계속하다가, 1981년 뉴욕으로 넘어간다.
이 때문인지 인도의 전통예술에 흥미를 가지게 되어 인도 전통예술 장인들과의 Collaboration 도 하고, 미국으로 넘어가서는 장 바스키아 (Jean-Michel Basquiat) 그리고 앤디 워홀 (Andy Warhol) 과 같은 뉴욕 미술계의 거목들과 Collaboration 을 자주했다.
